Mark Karan's new CD featuring Wally Ingran + David Gans Show taping!
Last November, Wally Ingram played percussion on two songs for Mark Karan's new release, Walk Through the Fire, featuring the all-star cast of Mark Karan, John Molo, Hutch Hutchinson (bass-Bonnie Raitt), JT (keys-Bruce Hornsby). It was a blast! While Wally was in Northern California in January, Mark again asked Wally to come down to the studio in Fairfax, CA to record 5 additional tracks for the new release.
Walk Through the Fire will be released June 30th on Quacktone Records. The album features an outstanding cast of musicians, including Delaney Bramlett (in his first posthumous release), The Persuasions, Bill Payne (Little Feat), The Rowan Brothers, Mike Finnigan (CSN, Hendrix), Hutch Hutchinson (Bonnie Raitt), Pete Sears (Jefferson Starship, Rod Stewart), Wally Ingram (Sheryl Crow, David Lindley), Jimmy Sanchez (Roy Rogers), and more. It also introduces "Jemimah Puddleduck" (JP), Mark's collaboration over the last decade with John Molo (Phil Lesh & Friends) on drums, JT Thomas (Bruce Hornsby) on keys, and Bob Gross (Albert King, Delaney Bramlett) on bass.
Last week Wally taped a performance with Mark Karan for David Gans Radio Show. The show will eventually air on the Sirius Dead channel. The 1st broadcast will be heard on the "Dead to the World" radio program. "Dead to the World" is heard regularly on Wednesdays 8-10pm on listener-sponsored KPFA 94.1 fm in Berkeley, California - hosted by musician/journalist David Gans, who will soon be celebrating his 25th anniversary in broadcasting. Mark Karan's new record sounds great and Wally Ingram will probably be doing some show's with him in the fall to help support the CD release.

Pablove Foundation - RIP Pablo
I would like to express my sadness, and condolences to my friends Jeff, Jo Ann and Grady over the passing of our little friend Pablo Castelaz (only 6 yrs. & 6 days old!) Saturday, June 27th. Laurie , Lydia & I attended the incredible memorial celebrating the life force of this very special child. We can learn so much from Pablo and his family, Jeff, Jo Ann and brother Grady. They did EVERYTHING humanly possible during Pablo's year and a half battle with cancer.
Jeff's daily narration on the Pablog, getwellpablo.blogspot.com, is a touching window into their world. Observations of the cherished precious moments and extremely difficult struggles so eloquently penned. Often bringing a tear to the eye of this reader and hundreds, most likely thousands, tens or even hundreds of thousands of readers world-wide. I'm quite sure that millions will get the message and feel the love and thirst for life that is PABLO! The Pablove Foundation is already helping out kids with their own cancer battles. For a boy who's life on earth was so very short, Pablo Threadkill Castelaz will impact many, many lives for many, many years to come. Pablo is with us. Through love and laughter and action and you and us -- Pablo lives forever. The Pablove Foundation will continue to fight in his name. Please visit pablove.org to learn how you can contribute.
